The Blacklist season 6, episode 20: Guillermo Rizal - A bit disappointing!
I am a giant fan of The Blacklist season 6, and as I have written before, this is the season that brought me back to the series, after skipping out on season 4 and 5. I was greatly surprised by the season, and it was the first 10 minutes of the first episode in season 6 that made me understand the uniqueness of the series. Raymond Reddington, played by James Spader, is just awesome in his role, and his role just gets more and more brilliant throughout the season.
If you do not want any spoilers, go ahead and read somewhere else. But, if you have watched the season yourself and just want to keep on reading my thoughts about the episodes and what's going on, feel free to read on!
As I mentioned, Raymond Reddington just got more and more brilliant throughout the season, and that was also so easy to understand and enjoy during this trial. He said so many great things standing before the judge, and I had a great time watching it.
But, then came episode 19, in which we got to know the true identity of Raymond Reddington. Just like Elizabeth, or was it Masha, we have been looking to find out more about the true self of Raymond, and we had to wait until season 6 and episode 19 to get to know more about the big discovery. In this episode, we are told how Raymond Reddington actually is the Russian agent Ilya Koslov who stepped into the person of Raymond Reddington to get hold of money needed for him to stay safe with Katarina Rostova. And that is how episode 19 ended.
After the big discovery at the end of the previous episode, I had great expectations for the new episode. I was lucky enough to be able to stream the episode on Netflix. But, somehow it is kind of a trend in the universe of The Blacklist that they need to take small brakes in the story from time to time. It was so interesting to see that the story of Anne McMahon suddenly stopped and we lost track of it, just after it turned so intense, only to show up again now and then. In this episode it shows up, but not with great power. It is there, but it isn't intense, and it didn't make my palms sweat at all.
But, we do not something is in the brewing, and also knowing that the season finale is approaching, there will for sure be an increase in intensity and speed of events in the future episodes. But, the story of the blacklister Guillermo Rizal didn't manage to do so.
It was an interesting story, but it didn't really grab a hold of my heart!
According to what I can see on Netflix, there will only be two more episodes in this season of The Blacklist. We have episode 21 which is named Anne McMahon and the final episode which is called Robert Diaz. These will air on Friday 10th of May and Friday 17th of May at NBC in the USA.
That isn't much, so I am really looking forward to the upcoming episodes.
You can stream the episodes on NBC from abroad, or you can follow the instructions from earlier in the article and watch all the seasons of The Blacklist on Netflix.

What is the Guillermo Rizal episode about?
Our blacklister is a man who has manipulated embryos and placed them inside a pregnant woman. One of the embryos is the "normal", while the other two has been "improved". Now, many years later, the babies are caught and being tested to see if which of them has turned stronger, better, and able to stand strong against even tougher trials than the others. It was an interesting story, but it didn't really grab a hold of my heart!
